Using keywords and backlinks

Today I have been educating myself and acquiring the knowledge by listening to Matt Carters Affiliate Master class video and using my cooltimer for my time management. I set cooltimer on 25mins increments so i don’t wonder off track while listening. In this video we are learning the skills of finding suitable buying keywords and what competition they have for affiliate products that we wish to promote. The tools required to do this are available for free and they are the google keyword tool for searching the keywords and traffic travis for checking out the competition. When studing the competion with traffic travis the most important column to analyze is the backlinks (bl) one. This shows the amount of backlinks pointing to their home page. • The more backlinks that you have pointing to your home page the higher up the search engine your site will rank in general. Now having said that it is the quality of your backlinks that come into play as well. A site with fewer backlinks that are of higher quality  will always beat out a site that has lower quality and higher number of backlinks. So quality can beat quantity. Not all backlinks are created equal and it takes practice in getting backlinks.

• In doesn’t happen over night but you will get there if you practice. In Traffic Travis it shows the columns of backlinks to the page (bl) and backlinks (bls) to the site over all. Matt does not pay much attention to (bls) and (age) column. The on page columns have importants | Title | Desc | H1 Tag |. Decision are based on how many baclinks the sites have and the on page seo section. Spend time learning about link building and outsourcing your link building. To compete you need a lot of links.

Once we have found a keyword phrase with not a lot of competition we target it and build a wordpress site around that phrase with what we have mastered up to date. If you already have a site in a related field just add on a page not post to that existing site. Examples http://yourwebsite.com/yourkeywordphrase/ or http://yourkeywordphrase.yourwebsitename.com
